How old does my boiler need to be to qualify?
A Wall hung boiler must be at least 18 years old to be eligible for the grant.
It must usually have been installed prior to April 2005 unless it is a back boiler behind the fire.
Are You Accepting Condensing Boilers On The grants?
No- The government is not allowing any funding to exchange condensing boilers even if fault or completely broken down.
Please do not apply as you will be rejected.
What is the Free boiler grant available for pensioners in Liverpool ?
Free boilers are only available for Bradford pensioners who receive Pension Credit guarantee credit, Pension Credit savings credit, or meet the Flex criteria.

Can I get a Free boiler if I'm not on benefits?
Bradford is signed up to a scheme called LA Flex which allows people not claiming a benefit to qualify.
You do need to meet other criteria such as low income and health conditions etc. We recommend that you make an application and we will give you a free check.

Does The Boiler Have To Be Faulty To Qualify For The Free Boiler Scheme?
The boiler has to be below 85% efficiency which most non condensing boilers are. It does not necesarily have to be faulty to qualify for the free grant.
Our engineers have to do a thorough test including Energy efficiency tests, combustion and safeness tests to qualify it.
This does not apply to the Boiler Upgrade Scheme where all home owners can apply.

What Is The Cost Of Boiler Replacement?
The average cost of a new boiler replacement with a small local gas engineer will typically fall between £1800 – £3000 .
This of course imagines a straight swap with no other work needed.
If you choose to go with a large company such as British Gas EDF etc, you can expect to pay from £3000 – £5500 again assuming a straight swap.
Are there Free boilers available if no boiler fitted?
There Are Free Boilers available Even If You Do Not Have A Boiler Fitted.
You Can Apply For The Free Central Heating Grant . This grant will fit you a brand new heating system Free Of Charge if you meet the criteria.
Can I apply for a boiler grant if I am a tenant?
No. Your landlord is responsible for your existing gas boiler and you will not be eligible to apply for a free boiler.
Private rented homes have been excluded from The Grant For A New Boiler Scheme since 2017.
