Help For Pensioners -Age Concern Grants [2022]

Help For Pensioners -Age Concern Grants [2022]

This blog is especially to inform our elderly generation what Government Grants &  Benefits they may be entitled to and how they go about claiming them.

There are a number of free government grants that provide help for pensioners & over 60s with the ever rising cost of living and those who are living  in fuel  poverty.

We have taken a lot of information from the Gov. UK website to bring you news of all gov grants available for 2022.

 Age Concern Boiler Grants

If you are claiming PENSION CREDIT  you may be able to claim an Age Concern Boiler Grant for  100% FREE includes fitting!

This boiler grant has been a massive help for pensioners who cannot afford to change their boilers.

A New Boiler Will Save On Your Fuel Bills !

  • New boilers are now over 90%
  • super-efficient with minimal wastage in heat efficiency.

This means that every pound you pay for gas heating, you actually achieve 90 pence worth of heat.

This compares with the older boilers giving you only 60- 70 pence worth of heat for every pound. Make good sense to upgrade now while the boiler scrappage scheme is still live.

Boiler Replacement For Pensioners – Who Qualifies?

To qualify for  a New Boiler Grant :

  • Your boiler has to be over 17  Years old or a back boiler behind the fire   AND
  • A resident at the property has to be claiming PENSION CREDIT – either Savings Credit Or Guarantee Credit

Boilers over 17 years old should be updated sooner rather than later as the reduced performance and efficiency will cost you money in the long run.

Do take advantage of this grant while it is still available.

Plenty of companies in your area that are doing this scheme.

Pensioners Cash Unclaimed Every Year

Unfortunately, many elderly people / pensioners in the UK don’t claim all of the Gov Uk  Grants and benefits they are entitled to.

£3.5bn worth of  Age-Related Benefits  and Government grants do go unclaimed every year in the UK and  many elderly  have to choose whether to Heat or Eat in the winter.

This is mainly due to lack of awareness and the absence of targeted advertising by the government and other organisations.

If you know of any elderly people living on the breadline or struggling to pay for winter fuel etc please refer them to this blog.
