Cash & Heating & Insulation Grants 2022

There are a number of free government grants that provide help for pensioners & over 60s with the ever rising cost of living and those who are living  in fuel  poverty.

Unfortunately, many elderly people / pensioners in the UK don’t claim all of the government grants and benefits they are entitled to and so miss out on hundreds of pounds of assistance every year.

£3.5bn worth of  Age-Related Benefits  and Government grants do go unclaimed every year in the UK and  many elderly  have to choose whether to Heat or Eat in the winter.

This is mainly due to lack of awareness and the absence of targeted advertising by the government and other organisations.

Possible DWP Benefits You Can Claim

Please check if you are entitled to one or more of these benefits.

We recommend that EVERYONE SHOULD MAKE AN APPLICATION with the DWP for possible entitlement to the benefit.

You will get a written response from the DWP saying YEA or NAY.

Nothing ventured ……………………..     Helplines are included

Age Concern Boiler Grants- How To Apply For 2022

Are you over 60 or a pensioner and  thinking of renewing your old boiler?

This boiler grant has been a massive help for pensioners who cannot afford to change their boilers.

  • Is your boiler over 17 years old ?
  • Do you have a back boiler
  • Noisy perhaps and starting to cost you money in repairs?
  • Do you have a budget boiler like Heatline, Ravenheat, Halstead, Ideal Isar etc.

Boilers over 17 years old should be updated sooner rather than later as the reduced performance and efficiency will cost you money in the long run.

Claim Pension Credit ?  Get a Free Boiler

If you are claiming PENSION CREDIT  you may be able to claim an Age Concern Boiler Grant for  100% FREE includes fitting!

If you’re a pensioner and  your boiler is on the blink, and you don’t have the cash upfront for a new one usually around £2000  this is for you.

This fantastic Grant has been set up to assist Low Income PENSIONERS  to exchange their old boilers and back boilers  cheaply.

Without assistance, people who cannot afford a new boiler would struggle to heat their house and keep their bills down.

The government recognises this and has earmarked funding to help those in fuel poverty.

Do take advantage of this grant while it is still available. Plenty of companies in your area that are doing this scheme.

Age Concern Boiler Grants – Who Qualifies?

To qualify for an Age Concern Boiler Grant :

  • Your boiler has to be over 17  Years old or a back boiler behind the fire   AND
  • A resident at the property has to be claiming PENSION CREDIT – either Savings Credit Or Guarantee Credit

A New Boiler Will Save On Your Fuel Bills !

  • New boilers are now over 90%
  • super-efficient with minimal wastage in heat efficiency.

This means that every pound you pay for gas heating, you actually achieve 90 pence worth of heat. This compares with the older boilers giving you only 60- 70 pence worth of heat for every pound. Make good sense to upgrade now while the boiler scrappage scheme is still live.

Age Concern – Free Loft Insulation

Free Insulation Grant

Free Insulation Grant

Free Insulation – Loft & Walls

There are millions of pounds worth of energy efficiency grants available under the Government Affordable Warmth Scheme to upgrade heating & insulation. This is a great help for pensioners that are in fuel poverty.

These grants can save you hundreds of ££ off your heating bills.

If you have no loft insulation, installing 270mm of new insulation could save around £135 a year.

Most homes in the UK  have some loft insulation but often not enough to minimise heat loss from your habitable rooms.

Topping up your loft insulation to the recommended 300 mm will make your home warmer and save you money on your energy bills.

If your home has cavity walls (a space between the inner and outer layers of brick) the gap can be insulated.

Insulating your cavity walls will make your home feel warmer and in a typical home cavity wall insulation can save around £150 a year.
