What Cash Grants Are Available For Low Income Families ?
Winter Fuel Payments
This grant is paid between November and December to help keep you and your home warm over the winter months.
This grant is non repayable & you must reapply every year to claim your winter fuel payment.
Cold Weather Payments
What’s the cold weather payment scheme?
Between 1 November 2020 and 31 March 2021, you could be entitled to extra payments of £25 if the weather drops to or below zero degrees celsius in your local area for seven days in a row.
The cold weather payment is added automatically to your benefit payment.
Warm Home Discount
If you’re eligible, the warm home discount scheme gives you a discount of £140 off your electricity bill.
Payments are made directly to your supplier between September 2020 and March 2021, and you will see this payment as a credit on your energy bill statement.
The warm home discount can be claimed as an addition to your cold weather or winter fuel payments.
Free Heating & Insulation Grants
The UK government’s Energy Company Obligation Scheme (ECO) was introduced in 2013 to help vulnerable homeowners and tenants across England, Scotland and Wales with the reduction of their energy bills.
A number of free grants for heating and insulation upgrades are available.

Do You Qualify For A FREE Central Heating Grant ?
To Be Eligible for free central heating you must have one of the following fitted with no radiators:
-Electric Storage Heaters
-Plug-in Heaters
-Back Boilers
-Wood / Coal / Fossil Fuel Fired Heating
-LPG with no Radiators
No Heating Present

- Old Electric Storage Heaters Fitted
- Electric Plug-in Heaters Fitted
- You Receive a Qualifying Benefit
- You Are A Home Owner Or private Tenant

To Be Eligible for Home Insulation you must have :
No Or Minimal Insulation Fitted
- You Receive a Qualifying Benefit
- You Are A Home Owner Or private Tenant
