Lots of people seem to apply for the various Government Eco grants available for Free Heating & Insulation without bothering to read the very strict criteria .
Indeed, some applicants choose to phone in to our helpline and become rather quite irate that they have applied and heard nothing back !
Most people seem to read FREE on the website and fill in an application form thinking they will automatically qualify! 🙂

Grants Eligibility Checklist All Our Grants 2023
NON BENEFITS APPLICANTS
At the time of writing (Xmas 2022) most people not in receipt of a benefit are not being accepted for a grant.
This is because the scheme (LA FLEX in which councils allow non benefit applicants to become eligible subject to meeting certain criteria ) is not live yet.
The criteria usually asks for income below £31k and you have one or more heath conditions etc.
The councils are dragging their feet with this scheme with only a handful actually accepting applications.
These seem to be in the West Midlands.

All non benefit applications outside these areas will be filed or deleted, sorry.
Free Boiler Grant Scheme Checklist
You Qualify If You:
✅ Have A Home EPC Of E – F- G
✅Have a Mains Gas Non Condensing Boiler Over 18 Years Old OR Have A Back Boiler Behind The Fire
✅ Are A Home Owner In Receipt Of A Benefit
✅ Have All Insulation Measures Needed To Increase EPC Rating To A C or D
❌ No Oil / LPG Boilers Exchanged (You may Qualify For A Heat Pump / Solar )
Free Central Heating
Grant For Central Heating
You Qualify If You:
✅ Have Not Had Central Heating Fitted In The Past
✅ Have A Home EPC Of E – F- G
✅Have a Gas Meter Fitted Before April 2022
✅ Are A Home Owner / Private Tenant / ( Landlord that has a Resident In Receipt Of A Benefit)
✅ Have All Insulation Measures Needed To Increase EPC Rating To A C or D
Free Storage Heaters
At Present Old Storage Heaters are being replaced for Central Heating / Heat Pumps / Free Solar.
( Subject to property type )
You Qualify If You:
✅ Have A Home EPC Of E – F- G
✅ Have Old Storage Heaters Fitted
✅ Are A Home Owner In Receipt Of A Benefit
✅ Have All Insulation Measures Needed To Increase EPC Rating To A C or D
Free Insulation
You Qualify If You:
✅ Have A Home EPC Of E – F- G
✅ Have Off Gas Heating
✅ Are A Home Owner / Private Tenant / Landlord that has a Resident In Receipt Of A Benefit
✅ Have All Insulation Measures Needed To Increase EPC Rating To A C or D
❌ No Gas Boiler Heated Homes Accepted
Landlords Grants
You Qualify If You:
✅ Have A Home EPC Of E – F- G
✅ Do Not Have a Mains Gas Boiler Fitted
✅ Have A Tenant In Receipt Of A Benefit
✅ Have All Insulation Measures Needed To Increase EPC Rating To A C or D

Finally – Are These Government Grant Schemes A Con?
No. To put your mind at rest, these schemes are very real and all the installers , participants in the running of the scheme are very genuine and are acting in good faith when dealing with all applications and personal data and surveys etc.
In over 10 years experience on these schemes, I have not heard of any people being the victim of fraud / identity theft as a result of applying for a grant so be assured that your pesonal data has been protected or deleted.
