What Is The Warm Front Scheme?
The Warm Front Scheme Is part of ECO 4 fourth stage of the government’s Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme.
The main goal of this fantastic free grant is to support low-income households to upgrade their home heating systems and insulation levels.
This will help vulnerable people to heat their homes cheaply and also to help the UK to reach its net zero goal by 2050.

All the Energy measures on this website such are funded by all the large energy companies that are signed up to the ECO4 scheme.
In reality it is the fuel bill payer that is really paying for Eco Grants via a small levy that is placed on every fuel bill.
Are There Warm Front Grants For Disabled?
All Disability Benefits and other ones too have been removed from qualifying unfortunately.

Are There grants for people Not On A Benefit?
There is a scheme called LA Flex that some UK councils are signed up to which allows people to apply for a grant without having to be on a benefit. The scheme is very sparse though and your council will have its own criteria. We recommend you make an application and we will try to assist you.

What is an air source heat pump?
Air source heat pumps are an new type of renewable energy heating.
They work like a fridge in reverse by taking warmth from the air outside and using it to supply your home’s heating and hot water.
They will even work when temperatures get as low as -15C.
Heat pumps run on electricity so they will help the UK move away from fossil fuel heating.
How do air source heat pumps work?
Air source heat pumps use the same kind of technology that fridges and freezers use.
The pump pulls in air from outside, then uses it to heat a special refrigerant liquid. As it warms up, the liquid turns into gas.
The warmth is compressed to increase its temperature – and provide lots of lovely heat for your home.
Once the gas has transferred its heat, it cools down, becomes liquid again. And returns to the start of the cycle.
The process only uses electricity and has an energy efficiency of over 350% – compared to an A-rated gas boiler, which is about 90% efficient.
Are There grants for biomass boilers?
Homeowners can now get a grant of £7,500 to help with the installation costs of Biomass Boiler on the Boiler Upgrade Scheme .
To qualify for a Biomass grant under this Eco 4 Scheme your property must either be located in a rural area, or in area with no mains gas supply.

Are There Warm Front Grants For Park Homes?
NO – We have been waiting for a couple of years for Park Homes to be included in the Free Eco Grants Scheme to no avail.
It seems the Government have no interest in helping people who reside in Park Homes.
I cannot see there being any in the future too probably because of their size and minimal carbon saved by insulating these homes.

Warm Front - Insulation Is Mandatory
Consumer protection magazine Which? found that installing loft insulation can reduce your energy bills by up to £215 per year.
As heat rises, and in most houses more than 25% of the heat inside the home escapes through the roof, which makes loft insulation and room in roof insulation vital to improving your home’s energy efficiency.
An Eco4 survey involves the inspection of existing loft and wall insulation. All loft insulation will be increased to 270 mm in order to improve the energy efficiency.
Loft insulation is effective for an extremely long period of time, with some loft insulation remaining effective for at least 40 years.
A typical home without insulation can lose 33% of its heat through its walls and 25% through the roof?
Insulating your home properly can improve keeping the heat in and reduce heat loss.
Adding insulation to your loft, walls and floor will help you keep your home warm, wasting less energy and lowering your home’s carbon emissions.
The scheme takes a fabric-first approach, which means it focuses on improving the building itself before installing new heating systems.
In fact, any home with an efficiency rating of ‘E’ or below will have to install loft, roof, and exterior-facing cavity wall insulation before improving any existing heating systems.
What Is The recommended thickness for loft insulation
The recommended thickness for loft insulation in the United Kingdom is 270mm.
Topping up the loft insulation to 270mm allows you to benefit from reducing your heating costs and effectively increasing the energy efficiency of your home.
Are There Any Grants For Landlords?
As a landlord, you may be eligible for an Warm Front grant if your tenants are in receipt of qualifying benefits.
They must be deemed to be on a low income, suffer from a health condition impacted by living in a cold home or are experiencing fuel poverty.
Your property will also need to be E Rated.
