How Do You Qualify For A Free Boiler?

Which Benefits Qualify For A Free Boiler
Someone living at the property ( (the home owner must also reside there too) needs to be claiming a benefit below.

How Do Pensioners Qualify For a Free Boiler
Pensioners Qualify If :
✅Are Home Owners In Receipt Pension Of Credit (or other qualifying benefit ) OR
✅ Have a family member living with them claiming a benefit.
I Receive State Pension Only - Do I Qualify?
No- If you only receive STATE PENSION you are not eligible sorry.
Old Age Pensioners Need To Be In Receipt Of PENSION CREDIT to qualify for the scheme.
All OAPs should make a claim for Pension Credit as Many are entitled to it but do not claim it.
Give Them A Call On 0800 99 1234 to enquire if you are eligible. You will then get a Free Boiler Too!
Are Condensing Boilers Eligible ?
No- If you have a condensing boiler, you are not eligible sorry.
Condensing boilers are usually fitted AFTER 2005 so your boiler must have been fitted before this date to qualify.

My Condensing Boiler Is Completely Broken Down - Do I Qualify?
NO. Condensing Boilers Are Not Eligible For Free Exchange.
You will need to bite the bullet and fund it yourself unfortunately.
I Claim PIP - Can I Get A Free Boiler?
PIP and other disability benefits no longer qualify for the free boiler scheme.
All disability benefits have been removed from qualifying for all ECO 4 Grants unfortunately. See below.
Can I Get A Free Boiler On Esa / JSA
Both benefits EMPLOYMENT & SUPPORT ALLOWANCE & JOB SEEKERS ALLOWANCE need to be Income Based .
If you are on CONTRIBUTION BASED for either benefit You Are Not Eligible
You can check which based you are on by looking at your Award Letter.
Contribution based is not eligible because they are not means tested benefits.
Does The Boiler Have To Be Faulty To Qualify For The Free Boiler Scheme?
No – If you have a non condensing boiler, it will be more than 19 years old and will be inefficient so will be automatically eligible.
I Have No Boiler Fitted - Can I Apply ?
You may be eligible for Free Central Heating if no boiler fitted.

Do You Have To Be On Benefits To Get A Free Boiler ?
Not always . If you are not on any benefits you could qualify under the LA flex route which is a scheme that some councils partake in.
Not all councils will qualify but it is worth you making an application and we will try to help you.
Please be aware that the majority of no benefit applications do fail.
Are Park Homes Eligible For A Free Boiler ?
There are no grants for Park Homes at the moment 2024.
We do not feel there will be any changes in the future too unfortunately.
Can Landlords & Tenants Apply For A Free Boiler ?
Private tenants and landlords are no longer eligible for a Free Boiler .
You can apply For Free Central Heating if the property has never had Central heating fitted in the past.

Is The Free Boiler Scheme Open To Ireland?
The Republic of Ireland & Northern Ireland ARE NOT eligible for a Free Boiler ( or any other grants on this site ).
This scheme is for the UK only.
Does Child Benefit Qualify For The Free Boiler ?
If Child Benefit is the only benefit you receive, your income needs to be below :
Single Parents
1 Child – £19,900 – 2 Children – £24,800 – 3 Children – £29,600 – 4+ Children – £34,500
Parents living as a couple
1 Child – £27,500 – 2 Children – £32,300 – 3 Children – £37,200 – 4+ Children – £42,000
