July 1 2022 is the day  that the Eco industry changes for the better for the benefit of the whole UK!

Home improvement grants for heating and insulation are being upgraded and more measures will be available.

Many more houses in need will become eligible for grant funding to upgrade their home insulation and heating.

Worst EPC Properties Eligible

The worst homes in the UK that have an EPC rating between E – G will be targeted for improvement with the new Government Heating Grant for 2022

Funding will be maximised at homes that improve their rating from worst G going to a E.

It is thought that Solid Wall homes will be the main target of all eco installers as these will be the most profitable.

What Happened To The Green Homes Grant ?

The Green Homes Grant was meant to be a £2 billion, 18-month programme to cut the costs of making your home energy-efficient and upgrading heating and was open to all home owners not just those on benefits..

It was launched with the idea of helping 600,000 homeowners to cover two-thirds of the cost of eco-friendly home improvements, up to £5,000.

The scheme was abruptly cancelled after six months due to admin issues .

Less than 50k  homes were helped – and most people said they had a poor experience with the scheme.

A report found that the grant had been “poorly implemented, with many applicants being disappointed.

If the government had designed, promoted, and run the scheme properly, it would have been very successful as interest was very high.
